Michael Gough, R.I.P.

Renowned British actor Michael Gough has died at the age of 94.

Though he was perhaps best known as Alfred in the 1980s-1990s Batman movies, or for his roles in classic horror films like Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, I first knew him, as I did so many esteemed British actors, from Doctor Who. Gough played the Celestial Toymaker in the 1966 serial of the same name (pictured above, with William Hartnell), and later returned to the show in the 1983 serial Arc of Infinity as the Time Lord Councillor Hedin (below).

So long, Michael Gough. You brought many hours of enjoyment to this nerd's heart, and you'll be deeply missed.
