R.I.P. Edward Woodward [Nov. 16th, 2009|01:35 pm]
International Bon Vivant and Raconteur
Edward Woodward, best known by people like myself for his role in the brilliant 1973 film The Wicker Man, has passed away at the age of 79.

No word yet on whether a dead hare will be buried in his place. When reached for comment, Wicker costar Britt Ekland chose instead to strip naked, sing "How Do," and bang on the walls of her room at the inn.

Oh, that's a shame. I liked his work a lot.

I loved the early seasons of "The Equalizer."

I never really watched it, though it was HUGE back when I was in high school in the 1980s. Everyone was always talking about where they saw The Equalizer filming around New York City over the weekend. In that way, it was like the Law & Order of its time!

I was watching an episode of Law & Order in which they were outside, probably at the huge court building. I happened to look in the background and I saw a person glancing over to where they were filming. Ha! I always wonder in those cases if the film crew has to have people telling the non-actors not to do stuff like that.

Usually they close off the street and redirect pedestrian traffic away from the shoot. That might have been a background extra being cheeky!

Re: Off topic.

Yup! As a matter of fact, I just saw it yesterday for the first time. Must have been making the rounds. It's very cute!

I also remember him for Breaker Morant.

I think his last appearance was in Hot Fuzz.
