I may have gone to college ten years after this song came out, but hearing it has always reminded me of my college time. I wasn't a goth. I listened to a lot of Sisters of Mercy and Joy Division, sure, but I never dyed my hair black or painted my nails. I did, and do, wear a lot of black, but that's really because it's so slimming.
