Hungry Kitty

Tonight, I schlepped through wrath-of-God, Noah's-ark rain to the Upper East Side to have dinner with the inimitable suricattus. New York has never quite recovered from her exodus, but today I saw people cowering in the shadows and gibbering on the subway -- it was as if they knew she had returned! (Alas, not permanently, just for a couple of days.)

It was a blast seeing her, as it always is. It's so rare that I get any one-on-one time with her because we usually see each other at conventions, so it felt like we had tons to catch up on over our Chinese feast at a place called Sunny on 81st Street and Third Avenue. (Some of the best fried pork dumplings I've had, by the way, though the sesame chicken wasn't anything special.)

We called it an early night, since I had an hour's schlep home in front of me. Somehow I managed to leave the Upper East Side without visiting my mother!
