Here's a clue, folks. If you're going to speak out about the Iraq war - and lord knows there's plenty of reason to - try not to sound like you've just come from the Starbase 21 Trek Expo, where you spent the last four days sleeping on a hotel room floor with an empty Cheetos bag for a pillow along with five other guys who don't know how to work the shower.

In other words, let's try not to sound like Rep. David Wu (D-Oregon), who said:

"This president has listened to some people, the so-called Vulcans in the White House, the ideologues. But you know, unlike the Vulcans of Star Trek who made the decisions based on logic and fact, these guys make it on ideology. These aren't Vulcans. There are Klingons in the White House. But unlike the real Klingons of Star Trek, these Klingons have never fought a battle of their own. Don't let faux Klingons send real Americans to war."

Because nothing speaks to the gravity of over 3,000 US troops killed, or the recent UN report that over 30,000 Iraqi civilians were killed in 2006, than a dorky Star Trek reference. Next he'll suggest we can win this thing after all by using the Corbomite Maneuver.

Also, "the real Klingons of Star Trek"?
