|The TV Bloodbath Continues

Your faithful TV nerd was right: ABC's Charlie's Angels was indeed the next new series to be canceled! But though production has been shut down, apparently episodes that were already produced will continue to air until they run out. So that's something you fans of the show (all six of you) can hold onto.
Also ceasing production is CBS's How To Be A Gentleman, which I think may have only aired once, maybe twice. I'm not sure because I didn't notice--just like the rest of America. (Sorry, Kevin Dillon, I hope you find more work soon!)
This brings the total number of canceled new shows to five, and the Fall 2011 TV season only just started a month ago. It's a bloodbath out there. (My pick for the next cancelation: Pan Am.) As Marc Berman, editor in chief of Media Insights, an online industry tracker, says, "The networks are desperate right now. They have to stop the bleeding....It's been a lackluster year."
Hmmm, just like last year, actually. Maybe it's time for some new blood to decide what makes it onto the screen and what doesn't?
