The TV Nerd Talks About the Fall Season [Sep. 11th, 2011|10:38 pm]

It's that time of year again, that glorious fall season when our favorite TV shows start up again, accompanied by fabulous new ones we can't wait to watch!

I'm being generous, of course. Possibly even facetious. Because as you may remember, last year's fall season brought with it a real dearth of interesting--or even good--new programs. Slim pickings doesn't even begin to cover it. I don't think any of the new shows I watched made it to a second season, or at least they didn't make it to a second season with me still watching. When it comes to truly interesting new series, this fall season seems only marginally better than last, with a handful of premieres that strike your faithful TV Nerd's fancy, and a whole plethora of them that, quite frankly, do not.

So let's take a look at the coming season, broken down day by day, to see which returning shows are still on my DVR schedule, which new ones are whetting my appetite, and a brand new segment I'm calling "Oh, Jesus Christ."

Cut for people smarter than me who don't watch TV.Collapse )
