International Bon Vivant and Raconteur
Last night I went outside for a cigarette and saw an opossum sniffing around the garbage cans that had been put out on the curb for pickup. I had heard there were raccoons in my neighborhood, but I hadn't heard anything about opossums. It was kind of cute with its big pink nose, if a bit startling to see on the streets of Brooklyn (and I wasn't a fan of its long, hairless, ratlike tail). It didn't seem all that alarmed to see me either, but eventually it ran off when I flailed my arms and said loudly, "Go on!"
Opossums in Brooklyn. Crazy old world.
