The New York Times op-ed page frequently makes for interesting reading. It's not unusual to find authors there opining on topics related to their latest books. These books are usually historical studies, biographies, memoirs, political tracts and the like. You know, the things people read newspapers for anyway.
But yesterday was the first day the New York Times published an op-ed piece that so blatantly exists for no purpose other than hyping someone's horror novel.
