Happy Big Brother Day!

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized unless the government secretly asks you to spy for them, without the need for evidence, and without the need for proving the spy program's worth by sharing the results, what with it being classified and all."
- United States Constitution, Fourth Amendment version 2.0

Thank you, Senator Obama, for really standing by your principles in yesterday's Sentate vote. You said you would vote against retroactive immunity for the telecoms involved in the secret and illegal spy program, and yet you voted for it instead. Talk about the audacity of hope! Loser.

But the Republican nominee is no better. McCain didn't even return from the campaign trail to take part in the vote. And, just FYI, there wasn't a single Republican senator -- not one -- who voted to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America in the face of rampant fearmongering. I guess "Give me liberty or give me death" can be retired as the quintessential American quotation and hereby replaced with "Save me from the towelheads in their dynamite vests -- I'll do anything!"

Good job, America. I look forward to the day when you stop being such a pussy.
