Poor Lewis Black

Wow, Comedy Central's new show Lewis Black's Root of All Evil is...sheesh, unfunny isn't even the right word. Tedious is more like it. Sorry, Lewis. You're a very funny guy, I really enjoy your segments on The Daily Show, but these "comedians" you've surrounded yourself with here -- you know, the ones no one ever sees anywhere outside Comedy Central's occasional roast specials -- couldn't coax a smile from a toddler while he's being tickled, handed balloons, and given a $500 shopping spree at Toys R Us. Better luck with the next project.

GSG Update

It's time for another eye-rolling General Slocum's Gold update!

I've been informed by Burning Effigy Press that my Bram Stoker Award-nominated (I am contractually obligated to say that now) chapbook will going into its third printing in April. This will make roughly 300 copies in print. Not bad for a little chappy from a small, newish Canadian press and a relatively unknown author!

I've also been informed that Horror Mall will soon be stocking Slocum and all the other Burning Effigy titles. More on that as it develops.

What the TV Nerd Does on Thursday Nights

Flashbacks and flashforwards on Lost? Craaaaaaazy! Also, sneaky and mean.

Meanwhile, on Smallville, it was the worst episode ever! The product placement for Stride gum was completely over the top. Also, that band sucked. Why did everyone act like they were good? It was nice seeing Pete Ross again, though. I always thought it was weird that Smallville got rid of its only black character. Too bad they once again couldn't think of much to do with him.

Addendum: The comments got pretty spoilerrific pretty fast. Don't look if you're sensitive to these sorts of things.
