First, a disclaimer: I don't watch football, nor any team sport, really. It's just not my thing. However, I do hang out with friends every year for the Superbowl, mostly to enjoy their company and watch the zillion-dollar-a-second ads.
This year was no different. Yeah, the New York Giants were playing, but *shrug* Nothing against them, mind you, it's just that I don't care about football so much. So I watched the game and found myself mildly rooting for the Giants because of the New York connection, but in truth, I didn't really care what happened.
Then, suddenly, with 35 seconds left in the game, I started caring. A lot. Even I was on my feet, hooting and hollering, with the Giants' last-minute comeback that led to their win. It was an amazing game in those last seconds, and I was hooked!
Best commercial of the night: A tie between Fed Ex's giant pigeons ad and Doritos' giant mouse ad. (What was with all the giant animals, anyway?)
Worst commercial of the night: Salesgenie.com's talking panda ad. With the ridiculous pidgin English dialogue, the ad couldn't have been more offensive if it tried.
