International Bon Vivant and Raconteur
Pope Benedict XVI has launched a surprise attack on climate change prophets of doom, warning them that any solutions to global warming must be based on firm evidence and not on dubious ideology.
The German-born Pontiff said that while some concerns may be valid it was vital that the international community based its policies on science rather than the dogma of the environmentalist movement.
This from the man who believes the world was created in 7 days, exactly as it is now with no hint of evolution, and is only 6,000 years old, despite all scientific evidence to the contrary. The Pope insisting we base all policies on science, not dogma? Irony!
The leader of more than a billion Roman Catholics suggested that fears over man-made emissions melting the ice caps and causing a wave of unprecedented disasters were nothing more than scare-mongering.
Scare-mongering, eh? This from the man who claims that if you don't do as he says you'll burn forever in the fiery lakes of Hell. Double irony!
And then there's the whole abortion, birth control and same-sex marriage are threats to world peace thing.
Congratulations, Pope Benedict XVI. You're not only a political mouthpiece, you're a punchline. Well done.
