International Bon Vivant and Raconteur
I finally picked up Nine Inch Nails' latest album, Year Zero. I'm liking it a lot more than their last effort, With Teeth, but it's also reminding me how much I used to like -- still like, actually -- concept albums, those albums that basically tell a single story all the way through, almost like a novel in songs.
There are a lot of classic albums that tell a single story. A list off the top of my head:
Pink Floyd, The Wall
Pink Floyd, The Final Cut
Roger Waters, The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking
Roger Waters, Radio Kaos
Marillion, Misplaced Childhood
Planet P Project, Planet P (this one might be iffy - I always imagine it as a single story, but I don't know if it's meant to be)
Planet P Project, Pink World
The Who, Tommy
The Who, Quadrophenia
The Eagles, Desperado
Jethro Tull, A Passion Play
I'm sure I've forgotten quite a few. Leave 'em in comments if you think of any I left out.
