And as the DJ was yelling at the thirteen year olds in some kind of hip-hop vernacular while they freaked out dancing to a speeded-up remake of "Livin' on a Prayer", I realized there wasn't enough scotch in the world.

You Know What's Weird? [Feb. 11th, 2007|11:11 pm]

I'm one of those freaky people who loves Valentine's Day. Even when I'm single. I just think it's a really sweet holiday. A whole day devoted to love. How cool is that?

I'm the only single staff member at the video store, so I'll be working the evening of Valentine's Day again. As I did last year, I'm going to bring one of those Russell Stover, heart-shaped boxes of chocolates with me for the customers. They seemed to like it. I'll probably put on lots of sappy romantic movies too.

Here's wishing you a happy Valentine's Day, regardless of whether you're with someone or single. Even grumpy old cynics like me can see it's really a lovely day under all the Hallmark crap and ridiculously heightened expectations.

And anyway, you can always hire an escort.
