"The Idiot's Lantern"

Well, all I can say is that was the first completely rubbish episode of the new Doctor Who. The plot was ridiculous (the villain feeds off your electrical energy, but it also takes your face and puts it in the TV...uh, say what now?), the emotions forced (was I supposed to give a crap about that family?) and the villain utterly inconsequential (not to mention motiveless - sorry, but "I'm hungry" is only creepy the first time it's said). The episode felt like filler, except even filler usually exists to get characters from one place to another (witness "The Christmas Invasion").

A strange misstep for what's usually an excellent series. Here's hoping the rest of season two doesn't follow suit.
