Take the Long Way Home

I got home tonight and found that Brian Keene had mailed me a copy of his novella Take the Long Way Home in thanks for the help I gave him when he was writing it. I really don't think my help was worth the $35 cover price, I only answered a few minor questions for him, but it's a sweet gesture, and I'm looking forward to reading it.

His inscription "This book couldn't have happened without your help!" is of course a load of hooey. Brian's the most prolific writer I know this side of Chris Golden and Doug Clegg. Nothing can stop the guy. Now if only he'd stop referring to himself in the third person as The Magus! ;-)

As a side note, this is yet another gorgeously produced book from Necessary Evil Press. Beautifully designed and put together. Don Koish is doing a great job over there.

Tomorrow, it's off to Canada bright and early for dean_italiano and gsguitar's annual barbecue. In many ways, that really is taking the long way home.
