International Bon Vivant and Raconteur
I had the opportunity to pick up both the new Rob Zombie CD, Educated Horses, and Lacuna Coil's Comalies yesterday. I like them both a lot.|
It's always great to have new music by Zombie, especially after it seemed for a while there like he was going to forgo music entirely to focus on making movies. Educated Horses feels like a bit of a transition album for him, with songs reminiscent of his older stuff ("American Witch", "Foxy Foxy") as well as songs that sound like a new style ("Death of It All, "Ride"), though still with that yummy Zombie flavor. It'll be interesting to see what he does next, musically.
Lacuna Coil is rapidly climbing to the coveted Nick's Favorite New Band spot. I can't get enough of Comalies, and I'm really looking forward to their brand new CD, Karmacode (they like smushing words together for their album titles), which is being released next month. It's enough to make me wish I could grow my hair really long and headbang properly instead of jumping around my apartment and worrying about my glasses falling off.
Yeah, I'm that cool.
