Last night was the big HWA-NYC Chapter Halloween party at the Aegean bar and restaurant on the Upper West Side. Turnout was kind of small and not everyone wore costumes (lame!), but it was still great fun. Luckily, I remembered to take along my trusty digital camera to record the event for future blackmail purposes.

leethomas as Shaun from Shaun of the Dead. He made the cricket bat himself from cardboard, fashioned a "Shaun" nametag for his shirt, and even dyed his hair a reddish-blonde.

Kris Dikeman attacked by spiders.

Full view of my Devil costume, for all you leather pants fetishists.

And a close-up so you can see the latex horns. Children--mostly dressed as Spider-Man or wearing some kind of freaky Yu-Gi-Oh plastic wig--were fascinated by the horns, often asking me how I got them on my forehead. When I replied, "Spirit gum," they looked at me like I was speaking a long-dead Martian language. So I learned to say glue instead.

Gordon Linzner and victim.

Gerard Houarner and Linda Addison in their Mardi Gras-themed costumes.

"Shaun" attacks a ravenous Shade Rupe zombie.

Sarah Langan apparently being scolded by Gordon Linzner. |

You look great! You are your user icon.
I couldn't see any of the other pictures, though.
That's because Live Journal is being really, really slow this afternoon. They should load fine otherwise.

Ooooooh leather!
Oh, I see them now. Looks like it was a fun party, and there were some really creative costumes there. | |
